Terms of Service
Clear terms for lessons, programs and studio bookings.
1. Agreement and operator
These Terms of Service form part of the agreement between you and Les Sons De Notre Humanité Inc. when you purchase, reserve or participate in a ME-GU Movement House lesson, class, program, studio service or gift card. Additional written terms supplied at the time of purchase or booking may apply to a specific program. If a specific written term conflicts with these general terms, the more specific term applies to that service to the extent permitted by law.
Les Sons De Notre Humanité Inc. operates from 1801 Hollis Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia. References to “ME-GU,” “we,” “us” or “the studio” in these terms refer to Les Sons De Notre Humanité Inc. operating under the ME-GU Movement House brand.
2. Services and program descriptions
Program pages describe the intended format, duration, approximate content, participant number and price of current offerings. Ballroom instruction is responsive to the needs of the people in the room, so exact exercises, dance figures and pacing may differ from the examples described online. A private package may combine technical work, social application and choreography where that combination supports the agreed goal.
Group programs require a minimum practical enrolment to run as scheduled. If a group cannot proceed, we may offer another date, an equivalent format, studio credit or a refund consistent with our Refund & Cancellation Policy and applicable law.
3. Booking, prices and payment
A website enquiry is not a completed purchase. Before a paid booking is finalized, the studio confirms the service, price, applicable taxes or other charges, scheduled time and relevant cancellation conditions. Prices displayed on this website are in Canadian dollars and may be changed for future purchases without altering a confirmed booking.
Where a service is purchased online, the customer must be given an opportunity to review the essential transaction information before completing the purchase. A booking is confirmed when the studio accepts it and any required payment or deposit has been received under the terms supplied for that service.
4. Attendance, lateness and rescheduling
Please arrive in time to begin at the scheduled start. A private session normally ends at its scheduled time even if a participant arrives late, because another lesson may follow. Cancellations and rescheduling are handled under the Refund & Cancellation Policy. If the studio needs to cancel or materially reschedule a session, we will offer a reasonable replacement time or another remedy required by the applicable policy and law.
Participants are expected to use the studio, its floor and shared spaces with reasonable care and to follow safety or footwear directions given by instructors. Behaviour that creates a material safety risk, harassment or serious disruption may result in removal from a session and further participation may be restricted.
5. Gift cards
Standard ME-GU gift cards are issued for a dollar value and may be applied to eligible current services until the balance is used. They do not expire and are not reduced by inactivity fees. Customization or replacement costs may apply only where permitted and disclosed. Gift cards are not redeemable for cash except where required by law.
Using a gift card does not guarantee space in a specific class or instructor schedule. The recipient must book through the usual availability process and any difference between the gift card balance and the current service price must be settled before the service is confirmed.
6. Physical activity and participant responsibility
Dance instruction involves physical movement, changes of direction, rotation, balance and repeated stepping. Participants are responsible for choosing clothing and footwear that allow safe movement and for telling the instructor about limitations or accommodations that are relevant to the planned activity. The studio may adapt an exercise or recommend a different pace where appropriate, but instructors do not provide medical diagnosis or treatment.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Any waiver, assumption-of-risk language or program-specific acknowledgement supplied for a particular activity is interpreted subject to applicable law.
7. Instructors, schedules and service changes
We may substitute an instructor, adjust a room or make reasonable scheduling changes where illness, facility conditions, enrolment or other operational circumstances require it. We aim to preserve the substance and value of the purchased service. If a material change prevents us from providing the service as agreed, the available remedy will be determined under the Refund & Cancellation Policy and applicable consumer law.
Events beyond reasonable control, including severe weather, building restrictions, utility failures or public authority directions, may affect service delivery. In those situations we will communicate available rescheduling, credit or refund options based on the circumstances and legal requirements.
8. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in Nova Scotia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without limiting mandatory consumer rights. If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent legally permitted.
