About ME-GU

Traditional ballroom can be visually formal, but the useful skill underneath it is remarkably practical: understanding where your weight is, how another person reads your movement and how timing changes the feeling of a shared step. ME-GU begins there. Rather than asking new dancers to reproduce a finished shape immediately, we teach the structure that makes the shape possible.
The school is intentionally adult-focused. Lessons are paced around learning rather than display, and our small-group formats are limited so instructors can correct details that would disappear in a large class. Private sessions offer even more room to work with individual proportions, confidence, musical background and specific social goals.
Visually, the studio follows the same idea. Warm ivory, stone and soft black replace stage-like colour; clear sightlines replace decorative clutter. The aim is not austerity for its own sake, but a room in which subtle movement is easier to notice.
