Privacy Policy
Personal information, handled with purpose.
1. Scope and accountability
Les Sons De Notre Humanité Inc. is responsible for personal information under its control in connection with ME-GU Movement House. This includes information provided through enquiries, program registration, gift card requests, booking administration and ordinary interactions with the studio. We aim to handle personal information in a manner consistent with applicable Canadian privacy requirements, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act where it applies to our commercial activities.
The Managing Director is responsible for organizational oversight of privacy practices and may designate staff to respond to routine privacy enquiries. Les Sons De Notre Humanité Inc. remains accountable for personal information transferred to service providers for processing on its behalf and uses contractual or operational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information.
2. Information we collect
When you contact the studio, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number, program interest, preferred timing and the message or details you choose to provide. If you proceed with a booking, we may also collect scheduling information, payment and transaction records, attendance information and communications about cancellations, rescheduling or service delivery.
We ask that you avoid sending medical details unless a specific movement consideration is necessary for safe and appropriate instruction. Where you choose to disclose a relevant limitation or accommodation need, we use that information only for the purpose of planning or delivering the service and restrict access to staff who reasonably need it.
Technical information may also be generated when you use the website, including device, browser, approximate location derived from network information, referring page, pages viewed and cookie or similar identifiers, depending on your consent choices and the technologies in use.
3. Purposes, consent and limiting collection
We collect personal information for defined business purposes: responding to enquiries, recommending an appropriate program, creating and administering bookings, communicating scheduling changes, processing or documenting payments, delivering gift cards, maintaining service records, handling complaints or refund requests, protecting the studio and participants, and meeting legal or accounting obligations.
We seek meaningful consent in a form appropriate to the sensitivity of the information and the context of the interaction. We limit collection to information reasonably needed for the identified purpose. If we want to use personal information for a materially new purpose that is not reasonably connected to the original purpose, we will seek additional consent where required.
4. Service providers and disclosure
Personal information may be disclosed to service providers that support payment processing, communications, scheduling, secure data storage, website operation, analytics or professional advice. These providers receive only the information reasonably required for the service they perform. Information may also be disclosed where permitted or required by law, including to respond to lawful requests, protect legal rights or address suspected fraud or security incidents.
Some service providers may process information outside Nova Scotia or outside Canada. When information is processed in another jurisdiction it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction. We remain responsible for appropriate arrangements with processors acting on our behalf.
5. Retention, accuracy and safeguards
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, support legitimate business records, resolve disputes and meet legal, tax or accounting requirements. Retention periods vary by record type; information that is no longer required is securely deleted, anonymized or otherwise disposed of using methods appropriate to its sensitivity.
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards intended to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, loss or theft. Safeguards are selected based on the sensitivity and volume of the information and include access limitation, staff practices and secure service-provider arrangements. No method of transmission or storage is risk-free, so safeguards are reviewed as our systems and practices change.
6. Access, correction and withdrawal of consent
You may request access to personal information that Les Sons De Notre Humanité Inc. holds about you and ask that inaccurate or incomplete information be corrected. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Applicable law may allow or require limited exceptions to access, and if an exception applies we will explain it where permitted.
You may withdraw consent to optional uses of personal information, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawal may affect our ability to provide a service where the information is necessary for that service. You may also raise a question or complaint about our privacy practices using the contact information below.
7. Cookies and website choices
The website uses necessary cookies required for basic site functions and may use optional analytics or marketing technologies where enabled. The categories, purposes and typical retention periods are described in the Cookie Policy. You can use the cookie preference control available in the site footer to revisit your choice.
